In today's high-technology world ever-increasing requirements are being placed on highly efficient filter technologies. One of the greatest challenges facing us in future will for example, be the provision of clean water for drinking. But increasing air pollution, contamination inside buildings and unknown toxic substances to which military and civil protection forces are exposed are also serious challenges.
Adsorption and filter technologies already make a considerable contribution to confronting this problem. In future however, there will be a steep increase in demands upon technology. The complexity of the undesired substances will mean that the performance of standard filter systems will no longer be sufficient. We will need a high-tech filter system that exhibits a wide range of exclusive characteristics. Among others, these include broadband and long-lasting adsorption, very high pressure stability, an adjustable pore system and low sensitivity to moisture. In this way it can be ensured that the filter system can be exactly attuned to the respective requirements placed upon it.
Blücher has developed highly specialised manufacturing processes in which the product characteristics such as shape, together with physical and adsorptive properties, can be individually determined and implemented in practice. This level of flexibility is just one of the reasons that justifies our claim to be the technological leader in the manufacture of spherical, high-performance adsorbers.
These spherical adsorbers are highly porous whilst still remaining mechanically very stable. They posses an extremely large inner surface area to which the molecules of the substance that is to be filtered-out are firmly bound.
